The relationship between Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce and pop star Taylor Swift was the talk of the football world for the past year, and star quarterback Patrick Mahomes took responsibility for assisting his teammate.

During an appearance on The Pat McAfee Show, Mahomes revealed that he brought Kelce to see Swift in concert, and the rest is history.

“I’d like to take some of the credit. I was the one who invited Travis to the first Taylor concert when the friendship bracelet was–he was sitting in my suite, so I feel like I was the matchmaker,” Mahomes said. “I had some input in there as well, I was like, ‘Dude, just go for it. Just go for it.’ And you know Travis, man, he does it. He’s a great dude and I’m glad it’s all worked out for the best.”

Mahomes was referring to the friendship bracelet that Kelce tried to give Swift with his number on it. He was unsuccessful that night, but the two of them managed to connect and have remained together ever since.

As McAfee joked, not only is Mahomes on his way to becoming the greatest quarterback of all time, but he might go down as the greatest matchmaker of all time as well.
