Princess Kate’s tears and Meghan’s hurtful words about Princess Charlotte

At the time of the wedding in May 2018, the press reported that Meghan had made Kate cry because of a disagreement related to the bridesmaid outfit. However, Prince Harry later corrected, saying that it was Meghan who shed the tears and Kate sent flowers to apologize. According to Tom Bower’s book, Princess Kate was feeling “tired” after giving birth to Prince Louis in April 2018. The source added that Kate’s psychology at that time was “too exhausted” to argue with Meghan about whether bridesmaids should wear tights. According to royal etiquette, the answer is yes.

However, Meghan – who is said to be quite tough – insists that young bridesmaids do not need to wear tights. Meghan’s decision received support from Jessica Mulroney. The book also mentions that the two brides disagreed over the length of the dress for Princess Charlotte. Kate said it was “too short and didn’t fit”.

Meghan’s unwillingness to “compromise” made Kate sad. Three years later, in an interview with Oprah Winfrey, Meghan had the opportunity to share the incident from her perspective. The Duchess of Sussex explained: “She (Kate) was upset about something, but she admitted it and apologised. She even bought flowers for me. A few days before the wedding, she was bothered about a problem — yes, it had to do with the bridesmaid attire, and it brought me to tears. It really hurts me. And I thought, in the context of everything going on in the days leading up to the wedding, it’s pointless not to do what everyone else is doing. Everyone was trying to support me, they knew what had happened to my dad, and so on. It wasn’t a confrontation, and I really thought… I don’t think it’s fair for her to get into the details of the matter, because she’s already apologized.”
