Recently, during an interview with reporters, the center for the Phoenix Mercury, Brittney Griner, accused WNBA fans of shouting racist comments towards her, her teammates, and even opponents during games.

“I don’t appreciate the new fans that sit there and yell racial slurs at myself, my teammates, and the people that I play against because, yeah, those my best opponents, but those are friends too,” she said.

Of course, that’s a serious accusation, and Griner has been getting a lot of hate on social media for people not believing her.

“Lol …… please can they start pointing these people out instead of creating completely false narratives …. This has gotta be the most pathetic league in the world..” said one comment.

“Can anyone provide a video of these “racial slurs” y’all always playing victim it’s WILDDDD,” said another.

“None of this is true. You’re on an endless search for things to make your league relevant. Why not try letting it be relevant for the level of play rather than the level of complaining,” added a third.

“People at the games would be posting videos IF this were happening. Why haven’t we seen videos? It’s NOT happening,” continued a fourth.

Of course, if these claims are true, you hope the WNBA will take action to stop them.

Brittney Griner And Phoenix Mercury Were Eliminated In The First Round

Going into the playoffs, Griner and her Mercury entered as the seventh seed out of eight total playoff teams.

That set them up for a best-of-three series against the second-seeded Minnesota Lynx.

Unfortunately for Griner, her team would be eliminated in just two games and never even got to play in a home playoff game. The last time Phenox won the finals was back in 2014.
