Lily-Rose Depp has rejected criticism about her and The Weeknd’s sex scene in “The Idol”.
Speaking in an interview with Vogue Australia published earlier this week, Johnny Depp’s daughter said she was “never interested in creating something pure” by playing Jocelyn. on HBO’s “The Idol.”
“We knew we were creating something provocative and we didn’t shy away from that,” says Lily-Rose. “It’s something I knew I set out to do from the start.” .
“It’s okay if this show isn’t for everyone and that’s okay,” Johnny Depp’s 24-year-old daughter continued, later claiming “the greatest art” is polarizing.
When it came to “the nudity and the risqué nature of the role”, Lily-Rose insisted that aspect was “really intentional” when she decided to take the role.
“It’s really important to me and something I’m very excited about doing,” the 24-year-old actress said. “I’m not afraid of it. I think we live in a highly sexualized world.” . I think it’s an interesting thing to explore.”
Lily-Rose went on to praise director Sam Levinson for creating a “safe space” on set: “I will never say goodbye to Jocelyn. Honestly, it’s been a while.” beautiful in my life. I will never forget it and it will live forever in my heart.”
