Tonight on “The Voice,” host Carson Daly reveals who America has chosen to be the winner of Season 25. The star-studded finale includes special performances by chart-topping artists, finalist/coach duets and a celebration of 25 seasons of the NBC reality TV competition.
The four-time Emmy Award-winning musical competition series “The Voice” returns with the strongest vocalists from across the country invited to compete in the show’s newest season, which premiered February 26 on NBC (8pm PT/ET). The show’s innovative format features five stages of competition: Blind Auditions, Battle Rounds, Knockouts, Playoffs and Live Performance Shows.
9:00 p.m. – “Previously on ‘The Voice’!” In the 20th episode, the Top 5 artists performed a ballad and an up-tempo song in hopes of winning America’s final vote. Will Nathan Chester (Team Legend), Asher HaVon (Team Reba), Bryan Olesen (Team Legend), Josh Sanders (Team Reba) or Karen Waldrup (Team Dan + Shay) be crowned the winner? Let’s find out!
9:03 p.m. – Because tonight is the finale of the 25th season, tonight’s episode is also in large part a celebration of the history of the show. After a showcase of entrances of all the past coaches through the years and then the introduction of this years’, Thomas Rhett opened up with a performance of his single “Beautiful as You.”
9:10 p.m. – Prior to their performance together, Karen and Dan + Shay discussed a budding friendship that they built through the journey of season, including the many times that the coaches made Karen laugh. Then, they took the stage for Lady A’s “You Look Good.”
9:23 p.m. – Next on stage was singer songwriter Muni Long with her own new single “Made for Me.”
9:31 p.m. – Before Bryan got on stage with John, he gave us a glimpse into his working relationship with his coach. They shared a moment together in their rendition of the often covered classic “Feeling Good.”
9:42 p.m. – The next guest performance was The Black Keys with their track “Beautiful People (Stay High).” Afterward, Josh took some time to thank Reba for the lessons he was able to pull from her coaching and their shared faith and love for country music. Together, they took on Randy Houser’s song “Back to God.”
9:53 p.m. – Lainey Wilson was the next superstar to get on stage and hype up the finale audience with her thumper “Hang Tight Honey.” Following that, Reba ascended the stage to present Lainey with an official invitation to accept the honor of joining the Grand Ole Opry.
10:04 p.m. – Oscar-nominated actress Kate Hudson showed a new side of herself with the song “Glorious” from her debut album. She was followed by Asher taking the stage with Reba for “On My Own,” but before they began their duet we heard from Asher about how he studied Reba’s old performances as a way of learning how to “rule the stage” himself.
10:18 p.m. – Champion coach Niall Horan appeared via video message to introduce the artist he won with, Gina Miles, for her performance of the the new cover single “Wicked Game.”
10:29 p.m. – The final coach-artist duet of the night was John and Nathan joining for “When a Man Loves a Woman.” Before they got down to business, they finished up that homemade cheesecake that John promised Nathan earlier in the competition.
10:39 p.m. – And the last star showcase of the season was Jelly Roll‘s performance of his new single “I Am Not Okay.”
10:48 p.m. – Prior to the first announcement of where the finalists placed, the group thanked their coaches for their leadership and guidance throughout the season. The artist that finished in fifth place was Karen. The artist that finished in fourth place was Nathan.
10:56 p.m. – The artist that finish in third place was Bryan, securing a first win as coach for Reba. And finally, the winner of “The Voice” season 25 is Asher HaVon.
