Novak Djokovic’s road to recovery has been faster than many speculated after having a successful knee surgery in Paris. The Serbian was seen in crutches a few days ago after the surgery but has now shared a positive update on social media as he was seen pedaling in the gym.

The 37-year-old exacerbated an existing knee problem after slipping several times during his fourth-round match against Francisco Cerundolo at the French Open. An MRI scan revealed a torn meniscus having played back-to-back matches for nearly nine hours of tennis. After a successful surgery, he was then seen on crutches, with many specialists admitting he might be away for up to three weeks.

However, with Wimbledon around the corner, the 24-time Grand Slam winner is eyeing a quick comeback. Djokovic decided to fly to his home country for a quick recovery at the Centre for Hyperbaric Medicine, as he’s also expected to play at the Paris Olympics which starts on July 27.

A few days ago, reports suggested that the 37-year-old had begun to walk without crutches, although he with a slight limp. Following due treatments, he started walking with minimal pain. Recently, he elated his fans and followers on social media by posting a video of him pedaling on a stationary bike.

He was seen doing footwork drills, balancing on a half-round ball, and completing other necessary exercises. The fast-paced progress the Serbian has made looks unbelievable after just undergoing surgery a few days ago. “Progress,” Novak Djokovic captioned the video.

His primary goal is to be back on the court as soon as possible. With Wimbledon two weeks away, the Serbian may not be fully fit having to adapt to the grass surface, but a likely Olympics participation is more feasible.
