Jessica Biel’s son Silas is a spitting image of her, a resemblance she highlighted during a recent appearance on Kelly Ripa’s Let’s Talk Off Camera podcast.

When Ripa joked in the Wednesday, May 22 episode that Biel, 42, should have a daughter to pass on her looks, the Bleeding Heart actress responded, “Honestly, I already gave my face to my son Silas,” referring to her 9-year-old son with husband Justin Timberlake. “He and I have the same face,” she added.

In the podcast, Biel also discussed the couple’s decision to keep Silas and his younger brother Phinneas off social media. Biel explained, “We get hammered [by the paparazzi] on the west coast,” which led them to move to Montana for more privacy. She emphasized the importance of letting their children decide for themselves about public exposure, stating, “I just don’t want [their exposure] to be on my account.”

Biel and Timberlake, who got married in 2012, have chosen to share only the backs of their children’s heads on social media. They welcomed Silas in April 2015 and kept Phinneas’ birth in July 2020 a secret until Timberlake confirmed it in September 2021 on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, saying, “He’s awesome and so cute, and nobody’s sleeping. We’re thrilled and couldn’t be happier. Very grateful.”

Their decision to keep their children’s lives private stems from a desire to provide a normal upbringing despite their fame. Biel acknowledged that while their careers involve public attention, their children did not choose this life and should have the chance to make their own decisions about it. “No disrespect to anyone who feels comfortable doing that, that’s just our family choice. Maybe it’s a mistake. I don’t know,” she said.

Biel discussed balancing her work and marriage with her husband on the Thursday, May 16 episode of The View. She emphasized the ongoing effort required to manage their schedules, especially with Timberlake on tour for his new album. “It’s always a work in progress,” the actress said. “It’s constantly trying to find the balance, find the time we can connect. Thank goodness from Zoom and FaceTime.”
