Spanish tennis ace Carlos Alcaraz is seen as the next big thing in men’s tennis and there are reasons for that. While the 22-year-old possesses a great skillset, Alcaraz’s mindset is second to none. The Spaniard has received praise for his elite mentality and Alcaraz once again proved why he is seen as a future superstar of the game.

The 22-year-old beat Jannik Sinner in the semifinal in five sets to reach his maiden French Open final. Alcaraz fought for every point and earned a much-deserved win. With this win, the 21-year-old became the youngest player to reach major final on all three surfaces. Alcaraz talked about this aspect in the post-match press conference.

The Spaniard said that he wants to be a master of all three surfaces like the Big Three- Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, and Novak Djokovic as well as Andy Murray. Alcaraz cleared his intentions about being the best player in the world and admitted that to be at the top, he needs to be the best on every surface.

I always wanted to be one of the best players in the world and if I want to achieve that, I need to be a good player on every surface like Roger did, Novak, Rafa, and Murray. The best players in the world had success in every surface...I am comfortable playing on hard court for example. My game suits pretty well on clay. I just want to be good player in every surface.

Carlos Alcaraz said.

Carlos Alcaraz has learned the art of enjoying suffering

Carlos Alcaraz wants to be the best player in the world and he is ready to do anything for that. While he sweats hard in practice sessions, he is also enjoying the suffering during the matches. The 21-year-old said that there is no other way than to enjoy the suffering.

You have to find the joy suffering. That is the key, even more here on clay at Roland Garros. Long rallies, four-hour matches, five sets. You have to fight, you have to suffer but as I told my team, you have to enjoy suffering.

Notably, Alcaraz beat Sinner 2-6, 6-3, 3-6, 6-4, 6-3 in a grueling battle that went for over four hours. Despite cramps pegging him down, Alcaraz fought his way through and managed to topple the upcoming World No. 1 player. He will next face Alexander Zverev in the final. It is to be seen if Alcaraz wins his maiden Grand Slam title on clay or if he will have to wait.
