Stephen Curry has put aside some heartbreaks from the past to join a new venture in the business world. He has joined forces with Kyle Lowry of the Toronto Raptors, the team that beat the Warriors in the 2019 NBA Finals. Besides the former NBA Champion, some other stakeholders of the new venture are none other than NFL legends; Patrick Willis, Brian Dawkins, and Tommy Townsend. This deal makes the Splash Brother one of the lead investors.
The company in question, Nirvana Water Sciences Corp., is a rising star in the beverage sector. Nirvana is set to create waves with its inventive range of super waters, seltzers, and other wellness beverages, and is valued at $2.625 million. The company looks to stand out as its water helps build muscle mass, boost metabolism, and elevate athlete performance. Kyle Lowry shared news of Stephen Curry hopping aboard on his social handle earlier today.
Thirty Ink, Steph’s business endeavors company, has today’s deal joining the likes of Under Armour (Curry Brand), Callaway, CarMax, Rakuten, and Subway. Lowry shared the official announcement by Nirvana to his story and said, “Welcome my brother!! Excited to have yall aboard!!” Clearly, there are no hard feelings between the duo and their rivalry seems to be a thing of the past. As this wasn’t Steph’s first deal with a company like this one, the NBA legend seems quite keen on building his reach and portfolio in the beverage category.
Curry’s decision to join Nirvana marks an important step in his off-court career. He was previously the brand ambassador and also an investor in oxygen-enhanced water OXIGEN in 2020. Even though the 36-year-old player has said that he has no plans to retire anytime soon, fans have been speculating the news for some time. His unexpected move with Lowry expands the scope of his career beyond the NBA.
The Stephen Curry – Kyle Lowry tale
For Stephen Curry, the Finals were a chance to further establish himself as one of the best shooters in NBA history and to lead the Warriors to their third consecutive Championship title. Curry enthralled spectators with thrilling plays, lethal three-point shooting, and gameplay throughout the series. The Warriors got as close as the finals, where they lost to the Toronto Raptors.
His performance was still consistent. Curry put up a playoff career-high 47 points, eight rebounds, and seven assists in a 123-109 loss to the Toronto Raptors in Game 3 of the 2019 Finals. With 31 points in a 106-105 victory in Game 5, he helped the Warriors avoid elimination and trimmed the Raptors’ series lead to 3-2. Curry finished with 21 points in Game 6, but he only shot 6 for 17 and made 3 of 11 three-pointers, missing a disputed three-pointer in the final seconds of the game and series. The Warriors fell short 114–110.
Ultimately, Kyle Lowry and the Raptors prevailed, winning the series in Game 6 to win their first-ever NBA title. Now that Steph and Lowry’s rivalry is a thing of the past, the duo embark on a new journey with Nirvana. Now that the former Raptors player is signed with the Philadelphia 76ers, the duo’s paths crossed again earlier this year in the regular season. Until they meet again next season, fans can relish the start of their current new chapter.
