Diddy recently shared a video apologizing for assaulting Cassie in a hotel hallway back in 2016. The apology came after CNN released footage showing Diddy, dressed in a white towel, punching, kicking, and dragging Cassie, as well as throwing a vase at her. In the video, Diddy called his actions “inexcusable” and expressed that he was “truly sorry.”

“It’s so difficult to reflect on the darkest times in your life, but sometimes you got to do that,’ Diddy said.

“I went and I sought out professional help. I got into going to therapy, going to rehab. I had to ask God for his mercy and grace. I’m so sorry. But I’m committed to be a better man each and every day. I’m not asking for forgiveness. I’m truly sorry.”

Cassie, whose legal name is Cassandra Ventura, filed a lawsuit against Diddy in November, accusing him of years of sexual, physical, and emotional abuse. Although the lawsuit was settled quickly, it sparked intense scrutiny of Diddy, leading to multiple additional lawsuits and a federal criminal investigation. This investigation resulted in raids on Diddy‘s properties in Los Angeles and Miami.

Diddy had previously denied the allegations but had not commented on the new video until his recent apology.
