Team USA has a huge task in front of them. It’s the national duty to seek redemption for the 2023 FIBA WC embarrassment. LeBron James & Co. assembled in Las Vegas for an intense training camp before they boarded the flight for the Paris Olympics. While every single player on the team has made their mark in the NBA, Stephen Curry, Joel Embiid and Tyrese Haliburton still failed to impress Kevin Durant, especially with their embarrassing inability with the ball.

Sickening”: Kevin Durant Scoffs at Joel Embiid & Steph Curry's Embarrassing Inability as Team USA Media Day Gets Chirpy - EssentiallySports

After covering Team USA’s media day, the NBA dropped a video on its official social media. The video went around asking players an important question: Do you know how to spin a ball on your finger? Steph, who clearly didn’t expect the question coming his way, said, “I can do a lot of things with the basketball. That is the one thing that I cannot do.” Following him, everyone spun the ball except for Joel Embiid and Tyrese Haliburton.

Kevin Durant, who believed that all his teammates could do it, didn’t seem impressed with the three odd ones. Reacting to Haliburton’s inability, KD scoffed and said, “Hali? the point guard don’t know how to do it?” Importantly, reacting to Embiid’s inability, Durant said, “That’s sickening. I thought he had more coordination than that.”

Finally, Steph gave in to his inability to spin the ball and said, “That’s one of the most embarrassing things of just me.” However, the Golden State Warriors superstar proceeded to spin the ball anyway, only to drop it immediately. And, he hilariously bounced the ball hard on the ground in frustration and walked away. Moreover, it wasn’t just restricted to KD. Notably, Jrue Holiday went after Anthony Davis, claiming that he can’t spin the ball. AD, in response, spun it and said, “C’mon Jrue you know me better than that!”

How well is Team USA Basketball shaping up?

Despite the intense off-season, the hoop nations’ attention has entirely shifted away from the NBA world over the last two days. The videos of players sweating it out in the practice facility continuously hit social media, leaving the fans in a frenzy.

Even though the team was stacked with 12 super-dominant players, it left everyone wondering about the starting five. Speaking of which, Steve Kerr, the coach of the team, said, “Our big job in Las Vegas is to find five-man combinations that fit… And to just ask all 12 guys to fully commit to the goal of winning a gold medal no matter what it looks like, no matter who’s playing.”

It’s a hard job for Kerr to make the call to bench players, considering the talent each individual brings to the table. Many raised a question, asking if LeBron James would be benched for the tournament. But, the latest update revealed that the star will most likely start the game. But, the management has yet to disclose the position that James would take up.
