NBA Commissioner Adam Silver Claps Back at Pat McAfee’s Shocking Derogatory Comment About Caitlin Clark

During Monday’s The Pat McAfee Show, the host Pat McAfee made controversial remarks while praising Clark. McAfee referred to Clark as a ‘white b*tch’, which sparked criticism. Despite McAfee issuing an official apology, he is still facing backlash for his actions. However, there are also some people who support McAfee.

The National Basketball Association commissioner, Adam Silver, spoke about McAfee’s derogatory remarks towards Clark on air and the recent discussions surrounding the WNBA. Silver stated that he accepted McAfee’s apology and referred to the incident as a misstep.

“He apologized, and I accept that. I think that the way media works these days, when people are online for hours, they’re gonna occasionally misstep. And I think what’s important is the context, their intention and sort of what they’re willing to say about having done that. I leave it to ESPN to make their own personnel decisions about what the consequences of things like that.” Silver said.

Pat McAfee apologized for his comments about Clark

On Tuesday’s “The Pat McAfee Show,” Pat McAfee apologized after facing criticism from fans. He explained that he had intended to compliment Clark and had great respect for her. McAfee apologized to those offended by his comments, stating that he had personally reached out to Clark to express his regret and his desire to move forward. He clarified that he was actually praising Clark’s impact on women’s basketball and the WNBA when he used the derogatory phrase to describe her.
