Even Milwaukee Bucks veteran Patrick Beverley himself knew that the league was going to go down hard on him after his antics during and after their season-ending Game 6 loss to the Indiana Pacers. True enough, the NBA has announced its verdict on Beverley’s inexcusable behavior, and it has now been revealed that the veteran will be forced to sit out the start of the 2024-25 season.

Milwaukee Bucks News: Patrick Beverley Suspended for Four Games

The league announced on Thursday that Beverley has been slapped with a four-game suspension for “forcefully throwing a basketball” at Pacers fans. The enigmatic guard is also being sanctioned for his “inappropriate” behavior during his post-game interview with an ESPN reporter:

The press release also indicated that Beverley will be docked of his paycheck for these four games. Based on his contract with the Bucks this past season, this would amount to roughly $100,000.

It is worth noting, however, that Beverley will be a free agent this summer, which means that it’s very much possible that he ends up serving this suspension with a different team next season.

Patrick Beverley Feeling Remorseful

Even before the league announced his suspension, Beverley was adamant that he was set to face a hefty sanction for his actions. The veteran knew that he had crossed the line, and it is clear that he is willing to accept the NBA’s penalty:

You have to give credit to Beverley for owning up to his mistakes. A lesser man would have pinned the blame on everybody else except himself.

Love him or hate him, it’s hard to deny that Pat Bev is a stand-up kind of guy.
