Jeff Teague wasn’t a star during his brief stint with the Milwaukee Bucks. However, there’s no denying that the former All-Star point guard played his part in the team’s historic championship run that same season.

Teague has a lot of fond memories with the Bucks, despite the fact that he played just 37 games for the team during that championship year. The one thing that sticks out for Teague, however, is how the team celebrated their title — and not in a good way.

Teague recently spilled the beans on all the action that went on after Milwaukee took down the Phoenix Suns in the 2021 NBA Finals to claim their first franchise championship in 50 years — or rather, the apparent lack thereof:
“We won a chip, I ain’t care bro,” he said. “Our afterparty was trash. I had better times in Lou-will-ville. … Me, P.J. Tucker, Bobby Portis, we like ‘Let’s go to Vegas y’all, it ain’t no party in Milwaukee.’ It’s probably like 20 people in the little venue we was at. It wasn’t nothing going on so we asked Giannis ‘You want to go to Vegas?’ He said, ‘Nah, I’m going to celebrate with my family.’ Once Giannis say it’s over, it’s over.”

Teague obviously doesn’t regret joining the Bucks and winning that chip. After all, he decided to retire right after claiming his one and only career title. His major disappointment, however, stems from how Giannis pretty much killed the after-party vibe by opting not to go to Las Vegas with the team.
