Boston Celtics faced a rare setback amid their dominant season. The Cleveland Cavaliers stamped their authority at the TD Garden with a blow-out 118-94 win to level the series. While the entire lineup struggled to get into the rhythm, it was Jayson Tatum, who faced the brink of fans’ hate online. Moreover, the hoops nation online brought out their creativity to troll the Celtics Forward with a hilarious comparison.

The Cavs’ defense didn’t leave a chance for the Celts’ offense, as they struggled to find buckets. Even though JT faced the maximum troll, he emerged as the highest scorer of the side with 25 points. The only drawback was, he recorded the score with a poor FG of 7-17. More than the individual night performance, the fans focussed on the 26-year-old’s inability to step up for the side when it’s needed the most.

Throughout his career, the experts have compared Tatum to various superstars. At the same time, he was also criticized for ‘no show’ during the postseason. Despite his athleticism, shooting abilities, and consistent playoff appearances, Tatum still couldn’t cross one hurdle, an NBA Championship.

Keeping his postseason flop in their minds, fans pulled out a hilarious phrase for the Celt’s Forward. It read, “Jayson Tatum is like the Michael Jordan of Tobias Harris’s.” Notably, a majority of fans joined hands to drop a similar troll. Despite the trolls, JT has put an impressive stat of playing his 100th playoff game in his 7th season.

However, the numbers in the postseason don’t make a huge difference. Generally, the star players have a better postseason record than the regular season. For instance, Michael Jordan had a postseason average of 33.4 points and a regular-season average of 30.1 points. While it may seem unfair to compare JT with MJ, the point is players usually have a better postseason record. However, the Celts star recorded  23.1 points regular season average and 23.6 points playoff average.

Fans drag Tobias Harris into Jayson Tatum troll

The Philadelphia 76ers star Tobias Harris has his fair share of postseason embarrassment. The Sixers, in the Joel Embiid era, have constantly tried to focus on the ‘process’ to get a championship. Unfortunately, they come so close to achieving and end up flunking it in the playoffs, just like Jayson Tatum & Co.

However, during the ‘process’, while Embiid is often spared because of his MVP status, Tobias Harris faced the heat. Rightly so, the 31-year-old has a miserable postseason record. Notably, in the 2023 playoffs, he dropped down from his 40% from perimeter to 28% in the playoffs. Hence, he got dragged into the debate. A user expressed his disbelief with the comparison of the comments. They wrote, “Someone said Jayson Tatum is the Michael Jordan of Tobias Harris… What?!?!? That was funny though..”

While a lot of fans went with the Tobias Harris troll, this fan chose a different player, Rudy Gay. Compared to his regular season average, Gay is one point short of the playoff average at 14.3 per game. This was enough for the fan to troll him. They wrote, “Jayson Tatum is the Michael Jordan of Rudy Gays.”

What do you make of the trolls aimed at Jayson Tatum? Will he shut them by winning a championship this season? Let us know in the comments.
