Meghan Markle raved about her Nigerian roots at a Women In Leadership Event she co-hosted with Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Administrator General of the World Trade Organization. She attended the talk solo.

Meghan Said She Was Thrilled To Discover That She’s 43 Percent Nigerian

Meghan showed up to the panel almost an hour late, but the audience was enamored with her. She talked about discovering that she is 43 percent Nigerian and acted like she and the Nigerians who live in the country share similar backgrounds.

“Being African-American, part of it is not knowing so much about your lineage or background, where you come from specifically,”

Meghan said that the first thing she did after she found out was call her mother.

“It’s been really eye-opening and humbling to be able to know more about my heritage and to be able to know this is just the beginning of that discovery,”

She exclaimed.

Meghan went on to say that Nigerian women are

“Brave, resilient, courageous, powerful, and beautiful. It’s the most flattering thing to be in that company, to be in your company,”

She added.

After that, she finished her nauseating diatribe with,

“I hope that I could do justice to the role model I think so many young women deserve to have.”

Harry and Meghan attended a volleyball match, and Harry participated in the game. Afterward, they had lunch with the Nigerian defense minister.

During the lunch, the Duchess was given a warm welcome as Abike Dabiri Erewa of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission said,

“Princess Meghan, we want to thank you for coming home, and Prince Harry, thank you for bringing her home.”

They all called Meghan a “Princess,” which is an incorrect title. The people of Nigeria were reduced to tears upon meeting Meghan. They do not know much about the royal family.

However, they are fans of the legal drama Suits, which was Meghan’s only notable role as an actress.

“We have always loved Meghan ever since we saw her in Suits, and we are so happy she has come to visit us.”

Others addressed the duke and jokingly exclaimed,

“Harry, you owe us a dowry. It’s traditional for dowry, and Meghan is Nigeran, so he owes us.”

A dance troupe entertained everyone with music and rhythmic drumming, and the Sussexes were beyond enthralled when Nigeria rolled out the red carpet for them.

Sunday was their last day in Nigeria, and to commemorate Mother’s Day in the US, the Duchess wore her nearly $4,000 Caroline Herrera yellow dress, the same one she wore when she announced her pregnancy with Princess Lilibet and for Prince Archie’s first birthday.

Prince Harry, Meghan promote Invictus Games in Nigeria

They attended a cultural reception and a polo fundraiser for the Nigerian-based charity organization “Unconquered,” which collaborates with the Invictus Games. The couple were there primarily to promote Harry’s Invictus Games.

They also went to Lagos, where they enjoyed a basketball game. Harry went onto the court and took part in some ball-bouncing drills. Nigeria lavished so much attention and adoration on them that it’s ridiculous. Harry and Meghan Markle plan to return to Britain on Monday en route to Montecito, California.
