While the Bucks, as a private entertainment organization, have not made any political endorsements, they do have a history in national politics. After all, they were owned by Democratic Senator Herb Kohl for decades.

And, of course, the Bucks’ NBA Championship team visited the White House and met President Joe Biden after they won the title in 2021. At the time, President Biden said of the late Senator Kohl, “He was one of the finest people I’ve served with.”

With 2024 being an election year, tensions are very high among Americans as differences between Democrats and Republicans are talked about at great length.

2024 also is an Olympics year. Giannis Antetokounmpo, of course, is representing Greece and helped lead their National Team to their first Olympic Games since 2008. Former Bucks guard Jrue Holiday is, once again, on Team USA. He and Khris Middleton were on the American team that won the Gold Medal during the Tokyo Olympics.

Los Angeles Clippers star Kawhi Leonard was one of the 12 NBA stars named to this year’s Team USA. However, it was announced today that he was dropping out of the Olympics due to concerns over his knee. The Americans are replacing him with Boston Celtics point guard Derrick White.

Former Milwaukee Bucks Head Coach George Karl Makes the Kawhi Leonard Decision Political

While it is unfortunate the Leonard will not be able to compete, former Bucks coach George Karl could not help but make the news political:

Karl is referencing the call many people, on both sides of the political aisle, have regarding their concerns over President Biden’s mental state. He performed terribly in his debate with former President Donald Trump and many have been calling for him to step down from running for a second term.

The President has declined to step down, as of right now.

In a comment below his original post, Karl wrote, “If you’re confused, this doesnt mean I like Maga man.”
