The Los Angeles Lakers have officially agreed to terms with second-round NBA draft pick Bronny James. The rookie out of USC will sign a four-year, $7.9 million deal after being selected with the No. 55 overall pick in 2024, per Bleacher Report on X.

James is the son of Lakers forward and NBA legend LeBron James. They mark the first father-son duo on the same team in NBA history.

The 19-year-old prospect out of USC averaged 4.8 points and 2.8 rebounds per game during his freshman season with the Trojans. The 6-foot-1 guard brings catch-and-shoot ability, as well as a quality perimeter defense on the other end of the floor.

It was recently reported that James would be participating in the California Classic and Las Vegas Summer League, set to begin July 6.

His first game in the California Classic features a matchup against the Sacramento Kings on July 6 at 1:30 p.m. ET.

Despite the constant rumors supporting James’ role as a two-way player with the Lakers, he signed an NBA standard contract and will be in the 2024-25 season on the opening day roster.
