WNBA fans were looking forward to watching Caitlin Clark show her deep-ball talent in the 2024 WNBA Three-Point Contest.

As one of the best shooters in the league and one of the sports brightest rising stars, many fans just assumed Clark was a lock to participate in this year’s event.

But when the WNBA released its Three-Point Contest lineup on Wednesday night, Clark’s name was nowhere to be found.

New York Liberty sharpshooter Sabrina Ionescu was also not on the list.

Here’s the list of five participants for this year’s event:

Stefanie Dolson — Washington Mystics
Allisha Gray —Atlanta Dream
Jonquel Jones — New York Liberty
Marina Mabrey — Connecticut Sun
Kayla McBride — Minnesota Lynx

WNBA fans are absolutely stunned by this announcement.

“WAIT WHAT,” one wrote.

“Yup, this league is a joke,” another said.

“It has to be because caitlin declined? right? right?” another asked.

“You’re kidding. How is sab not joining either?” another wrote.

While Clark won’t participate in the Three-Point Contest, she’ll suit up for the WNBA All-Star Team as they face off against Team USA in a highly-anticipated matchup on July 20.
