Paula Badosa and Stefanos Tsitsipas are set to play mixed doubles at the French Open just days after announcing that they have decided to get back together.

 

 

On May 5th, the tennis world was left shocked but also saddened after Badosa announced in a message posted on her Instagram Story that she and Tsitsipas decided to go their separate ways after a year of dating.

But after being spotted together in Monte Carlo last week, Badosa and Tsitsipas confirmed over the weekend that they were reunited.

Now, they have popped up as a mixed doubles team in the French Open mixed doubles draw as they will be taking on Ena Shibahara and Nick Lammons in the first round. Since this will be Badosa and Tsitsipas’ first appearance as a couple on the main stage, they will be taking on Shibahara and Lammons for the first time.

However, this won’t be the first time that Badosa and Tsitsipas are playing together as they previously appeared as a mixed doubles duo in two exhibitions – at the 2023 World Tennis League and this year’s Eisenhower Cup, where they finished as runners-up.

“It’s not that I care, but I don’t think people should take it like that. Paula didn’t do anything wrong and neither did I. It was hard for us to be apart and I was also going through difficult times.

“I would say that I didn’t take it very well either, because I felt the pressure of the tour, of my work. It seemed like a mountain to combine the two things (tennis and romantic life) and I made the decision to take a break.

After two or three weeks I realized that she is a person who has supported me a lot and, when she tried to talk to me again, I felt how intense the love we have for each other is.”

In his message, Tsitsipas also said his relationship with Badosa is something that he never had with anyone else before.

 

 

When addressing reunion with Tsitsipas, Badosa simply said that the Greek explained everything in his message.
