Believes Clark deserves more accolades

Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark is widely celebrated for her impressive long-range three-pointers and prolific scoring ability. However, her teammate, center Temi Fagbenle, believes Clark deserves more accolades for another key part of her offensive game: her vision.

On Monday, Fagbenle spoke about the chemistry she’s developed with Clark, particularly noting their effective full-court passes.

“She’s a great passer, and she’s always going to pass it when I’m open,” Fagbenle said.

“It’s really amazing, because we haven’t had many practices together… I’ve only had a few of those kind of point guards, who you just know sees the play before it’s happened.

“Regular point guards, I’m like, they didn’t see it… but Caitlin saw that before I was open!”

A solid rookie season

This season, through seven games, Clark has been averaging 15.4 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 6.3 assists per game. She has managed to achieve at least seven assists in four of her last five games, underlining her playmaking prowess.

Clark and the Fever (1-6) are gearing up for their next game against the L.A. Sparks on Tuesday night, with the tipoff set for 19:00 ET.

“When adversity hits, how do you respond? Do we hang our heads? Do we not give each other high fives or eye contact anymore? Do we say, ‘F**k it. I’m just going to play selfishly?'” Fagbenle said.

“Or we rise to the occasion and stick to what we know we need to do and that’s to be a solid team?

“We know the schemes, stick with the schemes instead of thinking we know better individually or anything right. So that just comes with time and experience and so the more we have that, the better we’re going to be. I’m looking forward to what we can achieve as a team.”
