A long-simmering feud between Kris Jenner and her firstborn, Kourtney Kardashian, has erupted into a full-blown family crisis. Tensions, which have been simmering for years, reached a boiling point recently when Kourtney unceremoniously kicked her mother out of her home. The incident has left fans and followers of the Kardashian clan questioning what could drive a daughter to such drastic measures against her own flesh and blood. The rift between these two appears to run deeper than any typical mother-daughter squabble.

Their relationship has been fraught with tension from the very beginning of the Kardashian family’s rise to reality  TV stardom in 2007. Kourtney has long felt that her mother favored her other siblings and treated her differently. The controlling tendencies of the Kardashian matriarch only fueled the fire. When Kourtney found happiness with her longtime partner, Scott Disick, and yearned to tie the knot, Kris seemingly made the joyous occasion all about herself instead of her daughter’s happiness. Accusations flew that Kris prioritized profits over Kourtney’s heart.

But the wounds run even deeper into the past. Kourtney remains haunted by the memory of her mother’s infidelity that shattered the family unit when she was younger. The betrayal of Kris’s affair with soccer player Todd Waterman irreparably damaged Kourtney’s relationship with her father, the late Robert Kardashian. As if that wasn’t enough to erode the bond between mother and daughter, Kris had the audacity to draw parallels between her cheating and Kourtney’s relationship with former partner Younes Bendjima. Shockingly, Kris’s behavior didn’t end there. During Kourtney’s on-again, off-again relationship with Scott Disick, Kris relentlessly pressured her to get married, even after Kourtney made it clear she wanted to move on. Kardashian fans speculated that Kris merely wanted to keep Scott around for his entertainment value on their reality show. Even when Kourtney explicitly stated her desire to date someone new after years of turmoil with Scott, Kris shamelessly tried to shame her for daring to live her own life on her own terms.

The breaking point came when Kourtney revealed making one final attempt to discuss improving their bond with her obstinate mother. However, the conversation quickly devolved into a heated argument, prompting Kourtney to completely cut off contact for a blessed period of around a month. Kourtney steered clear despite Kris’s persistent phone calls and messages. A fragile peace settled over their interactions, which became limited to the occasional strained run-in at family gatherings where Kourtney deliberately kept her distance.

That respite came to an abrupt halt recently when Kris and her sister Kim showed up unannounced on Kourtney’s doorstep, Kris seeking reconciliation, Kim angling to discuss matters with Kourtney’s husband, Travis Barker. Their plan to take the couple out to dinner didn’t sit well with Travis at all. According to inside sources, Travis has urged Kourtney to hold firm on her boundaries, arguing that her own mother should finally respect Kourtney’s oft-stated desire to distance herself from the family’s toxic orbit.
