The once forgotten portrait of Princess Diana, behind which contains a story that not everyone knows

The long-forgotten portrait of the late Princess Diana recently appeared in the media ahead of the 25th anniversary of her death at the end of August.

Taken in the summer of 1980, the photograph created by cinematographer Antony Charles Robert Armstrong Jones, also known as Lord Snowdon, captures Diana’s dazzling beauty at the age of 19. Long before there was any information about Diana and Prince Charles’ engagement, the photo was taken when the Princess and her husband had just started going back and forth for two months.

A special portrait of Princess Diana when she was just 19 years old.

Married to Princess Margaret – Queen Elizabeth II’s sister – 18 years before her divorce in 1978, Lord Snowdon was commissioned by Vogue magazine to take the attractive photo. Lady Diana in the photo exudes fragile grace, but her deep blue eyes create a strong attraction. Perhaps, none of them exuded the same aura, although Lord Snowdon was able to capture many more photos of Diana.

About a year later in St Paul’s Cathedral, central London, Diana married Prince Charles. Prince William and Prince Harry are the common children of both. A few weeks before the 25th anniversary of the death of the Princess of Wales, the portrait was long forgotten but “dug up”. On August 31, 1997, Diana died in a tragic car accident in a tunnel in Paris, France at the age of 36.

The never-before-seen photo of Prince William was also shared in the media besides Princess Diana. On an oversized oak chair, the black-and-white photograph shows William sitting sadly alone. The prince was holding his pet rabbit in his arms. At that time, the marriage of Princess Diana and Prince Charles was broken, the photo was taken when William was only 9 years old.
