The Princess of Wales was greeted with a standing ovation as she entered the stadium – just four months after revealing she had cancer. Kate’s return as patron of the prestigious tennis tournament appears to have taken Harry by surprise. The Duke of Sussex is said to have contacted his sister-in-law to congratulate her.

“Harry was watching Wimbledon and was stunned to see Kate back looking so radiant,” a source close to the Sussexes told Heat magazine . “Harry sent Kate a message to congratulate her and tell her how delighted he was to see her back,” the source added.

“Harry is very relieved that Kate has recovered and can return to work after a period of rest. So is Meghan,” the Sussex family friend confirmed.

However, attending Wimbledon is just one of Kate ‘s rare activities this summer. The 42-year-old princess is said to limit her public appearances to enjoy the hottest months of the year with her family. The Welsh will rest at Anmer Hall in the Norfolk countryside. After that, they are likely to join King Charles III and Queen Camilla at Balmoral Castle – the royal family’s annual summer retreat.
