World No. 1 Iga Swiatek had a birthday to remember as she eased past Marie Bouzkova to secure a place in the fourth round of Roland Garros. The top seed is on course to win her third consecutive Grand Slam at Roland Garros.
Speaking to the media after the match, the World No. 1 reflected on her rivals who have made her a better player. She considers Aryna Sabalenka and Elena Rybakina to be her two main rivals on the WTA circuit. She also gave a special mention to Ons Jabeur.
Well, I think Elena and Aryna just because they are also consistent and they are improving kind of with me, I feel. So, yeah, there are other players obviously doing that, but there is some rivalry between us, so yeah. I guess Ons it was always tricky. You had to really think on the court and adjust a bit more.Iga Swiatek said
To date, Rybakina remains the most recent player to have defeated Swiatek on the WTA tour. They clashed in the Stuttgart Open semi-finals, with the fourth seed advancing to the finals after a 6-3, 4-6, 6-3 win over the World No. 1.
On the other hand, Sabalenka claimed victory in the Australian Open earlier this year. However, she has faced tough luck against Swiatek, losing in the finals of both Madrid and Rome. Although the Madrid final was closely contested, the Italian Open final saw the Polish star dominate from start to finish.
Looking at Iga Swiatek’s Roland Garros draw after her third-round win
World No.1 Iga Swiatek dominated her third-round match against Marie Bouzkova with a 6-4, 6-2 scoreline at Roland Garros. Up next, she faces Anastasia Potapova in the fourth round on Sunday.

Should Swiatek advance to the quarterfinals, she could potentially meet third-seed Coco Gauff or 8th-seed Ons Jabeur. These matchups promise to headline the second week of Roland Garros if they make it to the last eight.
Regardless of her opponent, Swiatek is in high spirits after her epic battle against Naomi Osaka, where she saved a match point. She now feels rejuvenated in this year’s French Open and is more determined than ever to secure a historic three-peat in Paris.
