Angel Reese was laughing over comments that she’s living beyond her means.
The Chicago Sky rookie hit her critics with a jab on social media after Reebok announced Thursday that she’s getting her own signature shoe.
“God is so good!!! (looks like i can “afford” my bills now),” Reese wrote on X, including a crying-laughing emoji and a kissing face emoji.
The former LSU champ — and the Sky’s No. 7 overall pick in the 2024 WNBA draft — agreed to a multiyear endorsement contract extension with Reebok, including a signature shoe release in 2026, the company told ESPN on Thursday.
It came after Reese ruffled some feathers last week when she said “the WNBA don’t pay my bills at all” and joked “I’m living beyond my means!” on an Instagram livestream.
Reese, who made $73,439 during her rookie season with the Sky, revealed her rent is $8,000 per month, which comes out to $96,000 per year.
“I’m living beyond my means like y’all think,” she quipped on the live stream.

Reese is projected to make $74,909 next season, as determined by the WNBA’s current collective bargaining agreement.
That doesn’t include her earnings from endorsement deals, brand partnerships and ventures outside of the WNBA, including her “Unapologetically Angel” podcast.
Reese will play in the new Unrivaled League, which begins on Jan. 17, in the WNBA offseason.
Players that participate in the inaugural season get equity in the league, which also just landed a broadcast contract with TNT.

Reese is one of six active WNBA players with a signature shoe deal, including the Fever’s Caitlin Clark (Nike), the Liberty’s Breanna Stewart (Puma) and Sabrina Ionescu (Nike), and the Aces’ A’ja Wilson (Nike) and Sydney Colson (Creative Control).
In her rookie season, Reese averaged a 13.6 points per game and recorded a rookie-record 26 double-doubles, including 15 in a row, which is the longest streak in league history.
Her 28 games with double-digit rebounds is the longest in WNBA history.
Reese finished second to the Fever’s Caitlin Clark in WNBA Rookie of the Year voting.
Both players were the only rookies to make the 2024 WNBA All-Star team.
