Embiid recently addressed the press, expressing that he’s not currently worried about Jokic.
“I don’t care about Jokic. I’m playing for my national team. It’s all about focusing on ourselves and trying to make sure everybody’s on the same page. When we get there, we’ve got to know what we got to focus on. Right now it’s just about finding ways to get better every single day,” he said.
The star-studded Team USA roster is packed with talent. The roster includes LeBron James, Anthony Davis, Kevin Durant, Kawhi Leonard, Jayson Tatum, Steph Curry, Jrue Holiday, Anthony Edwards, and Tyrese Haliburton. The first game of Team USA will take place on July 28.
With such a powerful lineup, Team USA is gearing up to bring their A-game to the Olympics. They are vying to bring gold for the USA.
Joel Embiid Prioritizes Championship Goals Ahead of Team USA’s Debut
This will be Joel Embiid’s first time representing Team USA in his basketball career. The Philadelphia 76ers star’s main focus is now setting his long-lasting footsteps on the court that he shared with ESPN’s Tim Bontemps.
“I’m at the point where there is no award that is going to change my legacy, but the main one is the championship,” Embiid said.
“I just believe that if I just get that one chance to be free and healthy, along with my teammates, I believe we can beat anybody,” he added.
